Jamelle is a successful strategist and visionary who can create culture and build teams of effective, talented, highly qualified professionals. In 2017, she organized the College Park Police and Fire Chaplaincy Corps where she serves as the Director of Chaplaincy. Her most recent initiatives are the IGNITE College Park Resource Center, a referral agency that assists persons in need of critical resources, the Senior Dignity Project that assists over 400 senior citizens throughout the City of College Park, and BirthRight by Legacy, an entrepreneurial-themed program for teens.
Jamelle is an educator with a Georgia Teacher Certificate (former Atlanta Public Schools teacher k-5) and a Georgia Peace Officer Standards Training Instructor (P.O.S.T.) Certification. Her professional career includes Buyer, Macys New York and Macys South as well as National Director of Sales, AdzZoo Internet Marketing, Inc. Jamelle owns two for-profit ventures; Sovereign Ecosystem Solutions LLC and The Happy Cook. In addition, she serves as co-owner of G-Force Jet Management with her husband, Geoffrey.
Jamelle is the proud mother of one son, Reginald, and the published author of three books: Forty Days of Power-filled Prayer, The Next Level and Three Seasons. She has served as President of the Links HOA Board (5 years) and as Chairman of the College Park Georgia Business and Industrial Development Authority (B.I.D.A. for 2 consecutive terms). Her memberships include Kiwanis International (Atlanta Chapter), American Red Cross (Disaster Spiritual Care & Government Ops), Georgia WinList, and South Metro Democratic Women's Council. In April 2022, Jamelle was selected as one of 15 organizational leaders from across the United States to serve as a member of the national Chick-fil-A Impact Accelerator Cohort.
As founder and director of the College Park Chaplaincy Corps, Jamelle has worked directly with the Community Policing Division to coordinate and deliver services to Ward 1 as well as the entire city of College Park. Her passion and dedication to ensuring that our police services have funding and updated relevant technology has led her to advocate for salary increases as well as grants for federal funds on behalf of the department. These efforts led to a 20% raise for our police personnel in 2022 as well as a $373K grant in 2023 for ballistics technology supported by Senator Jon Ossoff. Jamelle continues to advocate for her community and public safety.
Jamelle has been a champion and an advocate for our senior community in College Park, In 2020, she established the Senior Dignity Project that provides direct resources and services such as meals, PPE, healthcare information and monthly tokens of love for seniors living throughout the city. In 2022, Jamelle was instrumental in advocating for a utility bill discount for College Park senior residents. Her partnerships with national and community organizations and elected officials in neighboring municipalities has allowed her to connect seniors to vital resources and services.
